Everyone deserves a decent place to live. Sadly, there are many families in our community that are living in places that are falling down around them. Places where children sleep next to leaking windows, mold, and holes in the roofs and walls.

Sonia and Madi’s home was one of those places. The trailer that they were living was not fit for a family, especially a single mom and her daughter. They tried to fix it up, but it was a losing battle. Madi was too scared to sleep, or even play, in her own room. They had little hope for the future…until they found Habitat for Humanity.

You can help like Sonia’s have a safe, warm and secure home for decades to come.

Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to launch GiveMN, a collaborative venture led by Minnesota Community Foundation and many other organizations committed to helping make our state a better place. That initial spark touched off a blast of online giving: $14 million in 24 hours.

While the Tour de Habitat usually is an indoor bike race with teams of six cyclists, who will ride for 10 minutes each, we are changing it up a bit this year, due to COVID.

The 2020 Tour will be the At Home Edition. We’ve given you an entire week to participate and how you join us is up to you. Bike, walk, run, skip, skateboard, rollerblade…you choose. Form a team, recruit your family or go alone, it’s up to you.

Tour de Habitat is open to everyone who wishes to create a team and participate in the event or those who simply want to donate to our vision of eradicating poverty housing in Cass and Clay counties. This virtual version of the Tour is a great way to engage your friends and family from all over the world.

When you support Habitat, your time, treasures and talents can be seen and touched in a very tangible way. Every dollar donated, window hung or lunch served is represented in the homes we build.

However, the true impact of that home can only be felt in the hopes and dreams that the family can now realize.
