MOORHEAD, MN. (October 2017)—Jim W. Nelson has been hired as Executive Director for Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity and will begin on October 30th, 2017.  In his position; Nelson will oversee all operations, functions and activities as the face of the organization. He will be responsible for connecting with people throughout the community and collaborating with key partners to create a compelling future vision.

Nelson previously served as director of vendor relations at CoreLink Administrative Solutions, Fargo, since 2011.He has expertise in global vendor management, project development and delivery, business process improvement and facilitation of cross group collaboration.  Prior to CoreLink, Nelson was employed with Microsoft’s Global Real Estate and Facilities Team where he was responsible for architectural, construction, and business services for Microsoft’s worldwide offices.

He is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture concentrating in Community Planning and received a Master Degree in Architecture & Urban Design, with an emphasis in Neighborhoods and Communities from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.

According to board president Josh Hoper, “We are delighted that Jim Nelson will be leading our organization. Former executive director Rob Rich left to start a construction business in June, providing us the opportunity to reassess the role of executive director and the future of our affiliate. Jim aligns with our values and  brings both the experience and leadership skills that will enable us to serve even more families in our community.”

Jim is married to Gail Nelson and they've resided in Fargo since 1991.  Gail is a therapist with Journey Counseling, in Fargo, specializing in couple’s therapy.  They have 2 adult children, Chris who is an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic with Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas and, Katie who is employed as a Pathology Technician by Sanford Health in Fargo.
